Freedom! His new home in the Forest.

At last ocelot "Jacinto" who has been cared for by the dedicated staff of Las Pumas has finally been released back into the wild in a large National Park, far away from people and where there are streams, other felines and abundant prey.

Good Luck Jacinto and a long life!

Ocelot release!

On 4th November 2008 Las Pumas Rescue Shelter, Costa Rica released ocelot "Jacinto" back into the forest.

He arrived at the rescue shelter in 2004 with serious head and leg injuries but has made good progress and recovery and has been in a pre-release enclosure for the last few months.

We are so pleased to hear that he has successfully been released deep in the forest into a large area of national park, far away from people and where there are other felines, streams and abundant prey.

Well done to all the dedicated staff at Las Pumas for making this possible.

Good news for two of the margays at Las Pumas which were successfully released back into the wild earlier this year.
